Marinated Carrot Fries

August 31, 2012 by Ariel 1 Comment

Ok so here’s another fun recipe featuring the amazing vegetable that is carrot!  Like I told you recently, I bought a TON and I have to go over all the possibilities of what you can do with them…  These carrot fries could be present as a side dish or stand alone as a snack… also don’t forget that it’s much more healthier than regular fries!  I had them marinate for 24 hours for even more great taste… trust me, you want to try them!

– INGREDIENTS –

Fresh Carrots, slices in fries shape

for the marinade:

1 tablespoon of sesame oil

4 tablespoons of boiling water

1 tablespoon of sugar

3 tablespoons of mirin

3 garlic cloves crushed

1/2 teaspoon of grilled sesame seeds

2 tablespoons of soy sauce

1 teaspoon of ginger powder

1- One day in advance, mix all the marinade ingredients together starting by the boiling water and the sugar to make sure it dissolved properly, then everything else.  Add your carrots and reserve in the fridge over night.

2- The next day… Pre-heat your oven at 375.  Line a baking sheet with aluminum paper and bake the fries for 25-30 minutes.  Make sure you come back every 10 minutes to rotate the fries to make sure they don’t stick to the aluminium paper and so they grill on all side.  Don’t over cook them because they will shrink 😛

Serve and Enjoy!

What Sodium Carbonate can do for you…

A delicious ramen bowl have been on my mind for days and my last experience, months ago, in New York is starting to feel like a distant memory.  I’m salivating to the thought of a delicious, silky and salty broth and the chewy texture of homemade noodles but my palate can barely grab on to this souvenir as days goes…
